Am I on Mute? is designed with privacy at its core. We don't record your audio, we don't track your meetings, and we don't collect personal data. The app runs entirely on your Mac and doesn't send data anywhere.
What the app accesses
Microphone access: The app requires microphone permission to detect your mute status and monitor audio levels for the speaking indicator. This audio is processed locally in real-time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
System audio settings: The app reads your Mac's audio input settings to detect which microphone is active and whether it's muted.
What we don't do
- We don't record or store any audio
- We don't transmit data to external servers
- We don't track your meeting activity or usage patterns
- We don't sell or share any information
- We don't use analytics or tracking SDKs in the app
Website & email
If you subscribe to our email list, we collect your email address to send occasional product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time. We use Netlify Forms to collect signups and don't share your email with third parties.
This website uses privacy-friendly analytics to understand how visitors use the site (page views, referrers). No personal data is collected and no cookies are used for tracking.
App Store purchases
Purchases are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We don't receive or store your payment information. Apple handles all transaction data according to their privacy policy.
